Dr. Fitzherbert “Fitz” Harry, DPT

Owner, Harry Physical Therapy & Wellness

Dr. Fitzherbert “Fitz” Harry is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the owner of Harry Physical Therapy & Wellness, a Central Florida practice focused on helping older adults move better, reduce fall risk, and remain as independent as possible at home.

Dr. Harry specializes in working with individuals experiencing Parkinson’s disease, balance problems, walking difficulty, repeated falls, weakness, functional decline, and aging-in-place challenges. Through Harry Physical Therapy & Wellness, his team provides in-home, in-clinic, and virtual physical and occupational therapy services designed to meet patients where they are and help families feel more confident about their loved one’s safety, mobility, and quality of life.

Originally from St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dr. Harry developed a strong passion for service, education, and health early in life. Before becoming a physical therapist, he worked as a biology and math teacher, an experience that continues to shape how he communicates with patients and families today. He believes that effective therapy is not just about exercises — it is about teaching, listening, problem-solving, and helping each person understand how to move with greater confidence.

Dr. Harry earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of the Virgin Islands and later received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Hampton University. Since founding Harry Physical Therapy & Wellness, he has built a practice centered on personalized care, practical home-based solutions, and helping older adults remain active, safe, and engaged in their daily lives.

His clinical approach combines evidence-based physical therapy, patient education, balance training, gait training, fall prevention, Parkinson’s-specific movement strategies, manual therapy, and caregiver support. Whether a patient is recovering after a hospitalization, struggling with walking, living with Parkinson’s disease, or trying to safely age in place, Dr. Harry’s goal is to help restore confidence, improve function, and reduce the burden on families and caregivers.

Dr. Harry is certified in LSVT BIG, PWR! Moves, dry needling, trigger point therapy, and soft tissue manual therapy techniques. He has also provided extensive education in fall prevention, Parkinson’s care, balance disorders, geriatric rehabilitation, and aging in place.

Outside of his work, Dr. Harry enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, exercising, gardening, watching sports, and continuing to learn new ways to better serve his patients and community.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Harry Physical Therapy & Wellness ?

Harry Physical Therapy & Wellness is a locally owned, licensed mobile physical therapy practice serving Orlando, Maitland, and surrounding communities throughout Orange and Seminole County. We bring high-quality, one-on-one physical therapy directly to your home, workplace, or gym — so you don’t have to worry about traffic, transportation, or crowded clinics.

Do I need to get a doctor’s order/prescription to start therapy?

No referral is needed to begin physical therapy in Florida. You can simply call us to get started. If needed, your licensed therapist will communicate with your physician after your first visit to coordinate your plan of care and keep your doctor informed.

Do I need to be "homebound" to receive your therapy?

No. Many people believe you must be homebound to qualify for in-home therapy, but that applies to Medicare Part A home health services — not to outpatient physical therapy. Harry Physical Therapy & Wellness bills through Medicare Part B, which does not require homebound status. Think of us as a fully equipped physical therapy clinic that makes house calls for your convenience.

Isn’t in-clinic physical therapy more effective?

Not necessarily. We bring all the equipment needed for safe, effective rehabilitation — massage tables, weights, resistance bands, balance tools, portable exercise bikes, and more. Unlike a busy clinic, you get 100% of your therapist’s attention with no interruptions or exposure to other patients’ illnesses. We help you in your actual living space, which improves safety and results. We do offer in clinic therapy as well.

Where do you provide in-home physical therapy?

We come to your home or facility anywhere in Orlando, Maitland, Winter Park, Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, and surrounding communities in Orange and Seminole County. We also make visits to workplaces or gyms (with permission). If you’re not sure whether we serve your zip code, call us and we’ll confirm.

Is my home eligible for visits?

Most homes are appropriate for in-home therapy. We do reserve the right to decline a visit if the environment is unsafe for the therapist or the patient. If you have questions about your space, just ask — we’re happy to help you prepare.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We are in-network with Medicare Part B and can bill claims for auto accident cases. We also provide receipts and documentation if you wish to seek reimbursement from other insurers. If we see consistent demand, we’re open to joining other networks. Call us or click here— we’ll check your benefits for you at no charge.

Will I have a co-pay?

That depends on your insurance plan. We’ll verify any out-of-pocket costs for you in advance.

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of conditions in the comfort of your home, including:

  • Balance and fall risk problems

  • Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological conditions

  • Orthopedic injuries and post-surgical rehab (joint replacements, chronic pain, mobility limitations)

  • Strength, endurance, and functional training for older adults

  • Stroke recovery and dementia-related mobility concerns

Almost any condition you would visit a clinic for, we can safely treat at home. [See our full list of services here.

Why choose home visits instead of a clinic?

Here are a few reasons our patients love in-home care:

  • Less risk of exposure to illness

  • No need for transportation or coordinating rides

  • Better compliance with appointments and home exercises

  • Real-life safety training in your own living space

  • One-on-one sessions with no distractions

  • Peace of mind and privacy

  • Easier for people with mobility challenges, low vision, or caregiving needs

  • You save time and energy, especially if you work from home
